Hosted by the Garden Space

With Special Guest Chef Tom Herbert (The Long Table), Chef Jacobsen Valentine (Feed the Mass), and Local Artists & Musicians

What if one beautiful evening around a shared table could change the way we see our city—and one another?

The Garden Table is more than a dinner. It is an invitation to experience hospitality as a force for renewal.

For one unforgettable evening, nearly 250 people from every walk of life will gather around one extraordinary table in downtown Portland. Neighbors, artists, students, business owners, families, community leaders, and those experiencing hardship will share the same meal, the same conversations, and the same welcome.

Hosted by the Garden Space PDX and many community partners, this four-course feast celebrates the beauty, abundance, and generosity of Oregon through thoughtfully prepared seasonal ingredients, meaningful table design, live music, and artistic experiences that encourage connection.

We are honored to welcome special guest chef Tom Herbert, founder of The Long Table in the UK, whose work has inspired communities around the world to rediscover the power of gathering across differences. Together with talented local chef Jacobsen Valentine and Portland volunteers, artists, and musicians, the evening will become more than a meal—it will be a living work of art.

Throughout the night you'll enjoy:

  • A seasonal four-course dinner celebrating Oregon's harvest

  • Beautifully designed communal tables that invite conversation

  • Stories of hope and renewal from our city

  • Live music and artistic experiences from local creatives

  • Opportunities to meet people you may never have encountered otherwise

  • A glimpse into the vision of Garden Space PDX and the growing movement of radical hospitality in Portland

At a time when loneliness and division are increasing, we believe one of the most powerful things we can do is simply create spaces where people belong before they believe, are welcomed before they achieve, and are known before they are judged.

Every ticket purchased helps make this possible. Your attendance also helps provide complimentary seats for art students, neighbors in recovery, community partners, and individuals who otherwise would not be able to participate.

Come hungry for exceptional food.

Leave nourished by community.

Join us as we discover what can happen when strangers become neighbors and a simple meal becomes a sign of hope for our city.

Reserve your seat at the table.
